We are a Yorkshire based electrical engineering company, run by a team of engineers specialising in HV substation installation, commissioning and maintenance works, including all associated assets.

Our Story

Switch Power Distribution is a HV engineering company which specialises in the installation and commissioning of substations up to 400kV, including all associated HV assets such as Transformers and Switchgear.

The company was formed in 2020, and is owned and operated by Stephen Wilson who has 18 years’ experience in the industry and Tom Chambers who has 12 years’ experience in the industry.

We pride ourselves on being the HV experts that are sought after to provide technical support and assistance to our customers, whether that be undertaking regular FAT testing and installation works at multiple transformer and switchgear manufacturers, or our extensive experience undertaking site HV installation and commissioning works, examples of which can be found on our Key Projects pages.

We have a full suite of HV test equipment for use by our commissioning engineers, and therefore we have the experience and capability to undertake the full commissioning of any site.

We have substantial experience of installing HV assets and outdoor compounds, with all employees capable of this work, led by our installation specialist who has more than 25 years’ experience working on these assets.
